Welcome to the Town of Pulaski's web site! You will find here a great deal of information about our community. We are a town striving for excellence in service to our citizens and the best in southern hospitality for our visitors. Pulaski is a welcoming place!

The Town of Pulaski is the County seat of Pulaski County. We are strategically located just off I-81 at Exit 94 and are only a few miles north of the intersection of I-81 and I-77. Scenic beauty surrounds our community located among ridges and valleys. We are proud to be a community in Virginia's New River Valley.

Pulaski is in the shadow of three institutions of higher learning: New River Community College, a leader in IT, electronics, instrumentation, and distanced learning; Radford University, a top regional institution in the Southeast featuring outstanding programs in business and economics, teacher education, physical therapy, and nursing; and Virginia Tech, a top-50 national and international research university featuring its world-renowned engineering programs, a new emphasis on the visual and performing arts, its Corporate Research Center, and, of course, a wide-array of Atlantic Coast Conference intercollegiate athletics.

The Pulaski County Schools offer innovative programs including an award-winning high school drama program. Two new elementary schools offer state-of-the art facilities, and a new, middle school is on the drawing boards.

Pulaski has an active economic development program offering sites for commerce and industry. The Town and County have recently attracted diverse industrial investment including Falls Stamping and Welding, Blue Bird Resins, Groupo Phoenix, Korona, USA, and Red Sun Farms. We are building on our manufacturing heritage while looking to attract businesses that can take advantage of our 1 GB fiber network.

Pulaski and Pulaski County are outdoor Meccas. The head of the New River Trail State Park is located at the town's historic Railway Station. A second State Park located on near-by Claytor Lake offers an array of family activities. Pulaski's historic Calfee Park offers minor league, professional baseball during the summer. We have mountain biking and hiking trails, and spectacular Gatewood Park offers a quite retreat for those who love to fish, hike, and camp. Finally, the town just opened its Ratcliffe Memorial Transportation Museum offering visitors an extraordinary experience including its feature: the Brockmeyer 80' x 26' O Gauge train layout, a scale model of the town in 1955!

Pulaski is a good place to live, work, and play. We are wonderful destination place for a visit. I am always eager to answer your questions, as are members of my staff. We are proud of Pulaski, and we welcome you!
