Fourth of July Parade Hopes to Excite Pulaski

The Fourth of July is a celebration of all things American; apple pie, baseball, fireworks and fried food. It’s the quintessential American holiday where we celebrate our freedoms and independence, and celebrate time well spent with our families and friends. But it isn’t really a proper Fourth of July if your town doesn’t have a Fourth of July parade, is it?
We think that’s the case, which is why the Town of Pulaski has been hosting their parade every other year; when it isn’t the Town’s turn, the Town of Dublin hosts it. The parade usually includes a variety of groups from around Pulaski. This year, we have a great line-up planned; along with the normal participants such as the police and fire departments, there are a few folks from around the county who will driving some unique vehicles, such as a handcrafted train made from barrels that are used for the train carts (he plans on giving kids rides around the parade route and tossing out candy to spectators). We’ll also have a few folks who will be riding antique vehicles and tractors, such as Charlie Bopp from the Ratcliffe Transportation Museum who will be riding one of his gorgeous old trucks.
Along with the more flashy participants, there are others who will be filling out the parade’s line-up. Cub Scout Pack 143 will be marching alongside the Pulaski Elk’s Lodge, and the Pulaski County High School Band will be providing everyone with memorable marching band tunes. The Pulaski Yankees will be there as well along with their mascot Calf-E, and Pulaski County’s ’50 Years of Love’ truck will also be cruising along the route.
There are still more participants that haven’t been mentioned here, so make your way to downtown Pulaski at 11 a.m. on the 4th if you really want to kick off Independence Day with a bang!
