Bill Webb, the former Pulaski Fire Chief who retired in 2015, died on Monday. He had a long career with the department, beginning back in 1983. After spending several years as a career fire fighter, he was ultimately promoted to chief.
Fire Chief Webb was the epitome of a man who cared about his town and his coworkers. During 2011 when tornadoes ransacked Pulaski and Draper, Webb was a critical part of the team who were answering an enormous amount of calls regarding damage from the storm to homes and families. On top of this, Webb also lost his home in the event, and several of his family members were injured. After ensuring the safety of those family members, he came straight back to work so his men weren’t left to deal with the storms themselves.
His steadfast courage and bravery will always be a model of how someone of integrity and compassion should conduct themselves both in the workplace and in personal life. Fire Chief Webb’s family will be receiving guests at the Steven Funeral Home this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be tomorrow, January 18th, at 1 p.m. If you would like to honor his memory in another way, the family are asking that any donations be sent to Draper United Methodist Church or to the American Red Cross.
