The air grows chillier, the days are getting shorter, and Halloween is almost upon us! Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays; even as an adult without the option of stocking up on lots of sweets after a night of trick or treating, it’s still fun to see everyone dress up, and dress up myself for events with friends. This year I’ll be joining some of my coworkers in a costume tribute to the classic Walt Disney movie Hocus Pocus, and last year I was the red-and-white striped disappearing artist, Waldo.
There’s plenty to be excited about here in the Town of Pulaski for the holiday, and across the region. Costume contests and fall festivals are in no short supply, and here in the Town we have a few activities planned for Halloween Day. The annual
Pulaski Treat Trail will be held once again this year, now directly coordinated by the Town. As of this moment, we have over seventy participants in the Treat Trail! With this many stops, your kids will have no shortage of candy come Halloween night. The Treat Trail will run from the 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., but some businesses have opted to participate until their normal business hours end (mostly around 5 or 6). Don’t worry though; when we put out our map of the Trail, we’ll make notes on which businesses will be leaving the Treat Trail early.
Alongside the Treat Trail,
Trunk or Treat will be taking place in Jackson Park on Halloween as well. Along with another hub of candy for the kids, Trunk or Treat’s main attractions are the decorated vehicles on display from select individuals and businesses in and around the Town, as well as a costume contest for kids. The best dressed will walk away with a few prizes as well! Trunk or Treat will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 7 p.m., with registration for the costume contest beginning at 3 p.m. If you’d like to participate, just swing by with your kids in costume. You’re more than welcome to dress up yourself, though; the more Halloween spirit, the merrier!
We’d like to thank our sponsors who will be assisting us in Trunk or Treat this year: Food City, The Southwest Times, and Pulaski On Main. Without their support, we wouldn’t be able to bring you all of the excitement and fun we have planned!
