Their program serves people 18 and older who are dealing with being alone during the day, a range of physical problems, or early to mid-stage dementia, and would like to join a program which provides interesting conversation, goofing off, laughing, good food, care, and companionship.

Pulaski Adult Day Service & Fall Prevention Center wants to reach out to those families that need their services but don’t know about them or don’t know what adult day healthcare is and how they work with each individual to build on their strengths. Their people do amazing things there whether it’s rediscovering a talent that they had forgotten or discovering a new interest. They have a Certified Music Therapist who taps into memories through music and has a gift for reaching those who have difficulty expressing themselves. They have had people start playing the piano after years of not playing or start painting or singing or working with tools. These activities help open up a whole new area of self-expression and feeling of self-worth and accomplishment.

They love to be outside planting, walking and just enjoying the Therapy Garden. New River Valley Master Gardeners come to teach them about plants and provide access to the Garden Club, which taps into memories of growing gardens and a love of growing things. They do games building on language and math skills in a fun way. They can be very competitive! When they play ball games, their folks laugh and show good-natured competitive spirit. They have great discussions on their past accomplishments celebrating their life. They often cook together measuring, stirring, and reading a recipe. Many of their people have raised a family through hard times and served our country and helped build this community.
