In the summer of 2019, The Town of Pulaski was awarded a Certified Local Government Grant by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources to conduct a review and update of the Downtown Historic Commercial District Design Guidelines.
The existing Design Guidelines were adopted in July 1987 and have not had any substantial review or revision over the course of the past three decades.
This project will allow town residents, business and property owners, elected officials, and staff the opportunity to provide input on the revised design standards and highlight the areas most important to preserving the historic character of our community.
The Town has assembled a project team to coordinate with the selected consultant and solicit public input in the drafting of the revised guidelines. This project team consists of the following members:
Janet Hanks, Chair of the Town of Pulaski Architectural Review Board
Janet Jonas, Member of the Town of Pulaski Planning Commission
John White, Town Resident
Staff support to the Project Team is provided by the Town Planner and Economic Development Director.
A Request for Proposals for Professional Services was released on January 31, 2020. A copy of the full RFP can be found

The current Design Guidelines can be found
