Experience the Christmas Spirit in Pulaski with These Festive Events
Posted on 12/17/2019
Pulaski Aglow and the Town of Pulaski’s annual Christmas Parade have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean our holiday spirit has diminished! As we approach Christmas, there are a plethora of activities for Pulaski’s residents to take advantage of no matter how young or old. We’ll talk about a few coming up that we’re looking forward to, and that we’re sure you’ll enjoy as well.
To start off with, the Town of Pulaski’s performance arts have something special this holiday season. The Adaire Theatre is bringing back Home for the Holidays, returning after receiving stellar reviews last Christmas season. It seems that the Adaire Theatre plans to make this an annually recurring show, which makes it a great way to start a new holiday tradition with the whole family. Featuring some of everyone’s favorite Christmas songs along with hilarious comedy scenes, this is one of the best ways to celebrate the time of year alongside your little ones. Even if you don’t want to bring the whole crew out, this is still a great production for anyone. You’ll still enjoy it, we guarantee it! The show will run through this weekend starting Thursday, with evening showtimes at 7 p.m. on the 19th, 20th, and 21st and matinee showtimes at 2 p.m. on the 21st and 22nd. You can purchase tickets online here or at the door for $10 each.
In addition, the Pulaski Theatre has invited Last Illusion: The Premier Tribute to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra to return after a year away from the Theatre. If you’ve ever heard the name or seen one of their shows, you know that the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for music lovers (and probably even for music haters). With amazing technical effects and master-class musicians, Last Illusion emulates the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s sound for one of the best live shows in Pulaski’s recent memory. If you want to catch them this year, their performance is scheduled for this Saturday at 8 p.m. You can purchase tickets in advance for $20 or at the door for $25 and they’re available at Martin’s Pharmacy, the Pulaski Visitor’s Center in Dublin, or online at pulaskitheatre.com.
Our favorite museum has a few things going on this week and next as well. This Saturday at 4 p.m. the Raymond F. Ratcliffe Memorial Transportation Museum will be hosting Westover Ballet for their performance of The Nutcracker Ballet. Westover Ballet will be putting their own twist on the performance, basing the retelling on Robert Perry Millirons, a World War One veteran and Pulaski citizen. We don’t want to spoil too much more for you, but this also promises to be an unforgettable production for Pulaski’s citizens. You can purchase tickets for this show at the Ratcliffe Museum or online at Westover Ballet’s website. Next week, the Ratcliffe Museum will be hosting an event called Victorian Holidays at Idyllbrook. On the 29th at 3 p.m., David and Judy Hagan will be hosting the event at their own home, inviting attendees in to enjoy seasonal snacks and beverages provided by Al’s on First. Admission price is a $25 minimum donation to the Ratcliffe Memorial Museum. If you’d like to donate a bit more, however, donations of $75 or more will net you an original champagne glass from the Maple Shade Inn, a sheet of original stationery from the Maple Shade Inn and a historic post card featuring the Pulaski Train Station. If you want to reserve your ticket now, stop by the Ratcliffe Museum or contact them by phone at 540-980-2307. These will probably go quick, so decide soon and reserve your spot!
On a kid-friendly note, the Pulaski Library always has a ton of activities in the pipeline for Pulaski’s children and the holiday season is no exception. This Thursday at 5:30 they’ll be hosting an arts and crafts event, with kids able to make their own air-dried clay ornaments for their Christmas tree. It’s quick, easy and fun, but perhaps best of all it’s a relatively mess free way for your kids to participate in the holidays. After they’ve made their ornaments, bring them back on Friday for Holiday Story Time. The library will be telling stories all about Santa and his friends, and what kid doesn’t love a good Santa story?
With everything going on this week and the next, you may have to make some choices on which events to attend. But if you ask us, that’s a pretty good problem to have; options are always a good thing! Make sure to let us know what you plan on participating in, we love seeing our residents out in the community having fun and spreading Christmas cheer!
