The Pulaski senior center seems to stay busy at all times; whether it be learning how to make desserts, practicing new arts and crafts techniques, or going on trips throughout the New River Valley, they always have something going on.
Yesterday, the seniors took a trip to the Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre in Wytheville to see a play titled “Back to the 50's”, a musical dedicated to the best hits from the decade. Before the show, they were treated to a full course meal including roast beef, country ham and blackberry cobbler. The show itself was wonderful; they performed all of the classics you would expect to hear, much to the joy of the seniors. There were several other senior groups there as well, and a few people couldn’t help but get up and dance to the tunes!
Several of the seniors had never been there, and walked away with a glowing opinion of the theatre. Some expressed interest in coming back in the future, so they may make a return trip later this year for their Christmas show!
None of this would be possible without the support of the senior center and the wonderful people who work there, so we would like to thank them for their continued devotion to our community of senior citizens!
