Stars and Stripes Series to Celebrate America's Independence
Posted on 07/01/2019
The Stars and Stripes Series is set to begin tonight in Calfee Park, with the Pulaski Yankees squaring off against the Elizabethton Twins. The series will last until this Wednesday, and the Yankees have something special planned for each night.
The Stars and Stripes Series will kick off tonight with Military Appreciation Night, with retired and active military personnel receiving a voucher for a free hot dog, chips and a drink. It’s a small gesture, but it’s the least we can do for our wonderful veteran community.
Tomorrow night will be American Evolution Night. American Evolution will commemorate the 400th anniversary of several key events that occurred in Virginia in 1619 that continue to influence America today. The long term goal of the cause in Pulaski is to have an American Evolution candle on every dinner table next Thanksgiving.
On the final night of the series, the Yankees are pulling out all the stops. Post-game fireworks will return for the second time this season to light up Calfee Park; after all, what better way to celebrate the Fourth than with some fireworks? Along with the light show, the Yankees will be hosting the largest Independence Day cookout in Pulaski. Cornhole, a hot dog eating contest and a s’mores station will provide park goers with plenty to keep them busy. And to wrap things up, fans will receive a red, white or blue Pulaski Yankees shirt as they stripe the ballpark for a big family photo.
This will be the Yankee’s third series at home in Calfee Park, with many more to come over the following season. If you want to celebrate our independence alongside the Yankees this year, you can get your tickets here, by phone at 540-980-1070 or by stopping by the Yankees office at Calfee Park.
