Fine Arts Center Plans to Celebrate Pulaski County

Celebrate Pulaski with This Upcoming Art Exhibit
Posted on 03/07/2019
Pulaski County means a lot of things to a lot of people, and each person’s experiences and feelings about the town are undoubtedly different. Some of those things can be captured in a photograph, whether it be a photograph of Pulaski’s industry, some of the townsfolk, or one of Pulaski’s many scenic locations. But what do those photographs mean to you? How do they quantify your personal connection to the town? The Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley hopes to provide you with an outlet to express those connections in their new exhibit, “Pulaski County Is”.

The exhibit will be open to the general public, with anyone able to submit up to five images that express their story of Pulaski County, and how they view their connection to Pulaski. These images can be anything, as long as they tell your love story with Pulaski.

The pictures will be displayed at the Fine Arts Center from April 15th through May 29th, with the deadline for submissions on April 12th. The images you choose to submit should be at minimum a size of 8x10 inches, and also need to be in digital format at 300 dpi. If you choose to photograph a scenic location or view, you must identify the area with an address and a description of the location.

As mentioned, anyone can enter their photographs for consideration. There will be several age categories, including youth (age 12 and under), youth (aged 12-18), adults, and professionals. A blind jury will determine the winners, whose images will be used to promote Pulaski County at locations throughout the county, as well as in print media.

This is a great opportunity to show what Pulaski County means to you, so get out there and start photographing! If you’d like to find out more information about the exhibit or request an application, visit the New River Valley Fine Arts Center or give them a call at 540-980-7363, or check out the exhibit's Facebook page here.
